A mouse or rat can spread disease through saliva, feces, or urine, and they can also host mites, fleas, and other parasites. It's okay for mice bites to be serious, but they usually aren't. Mice usually don't bite humans, and if they have to defend themselves, they'll avoid you. Rat-bite fever is caused by bacteria in rodents. Symptoms include fever, vomiting, headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, rash, and muscle pain.

Keeping food in secure containers, not leaving food lying around the house, washing your hands regularly when preparing food, wearing shoes inside the house, and getting Yale Pest Control to remove the wildlife right away will prevent mice bites.
